Mango Black Tea

Delicious hot or iced, our Mango Black is a classic blend one-upped with a base of premium black tea from Zhejiang, China. Its flavors of deep, full-bodied black tea and intensely tropical sweet-sour fruits make this garnet-hued brew a popular “everyday treat” for anyone who loves bold black teas or exotic fruit flavors. Add a bit of sugar if you’d like, or drink it alongside equally rich-tart foods, like grilled meats with citrus marinade or dark chocolate sweets topped with fresh berries or raspberry preserves.

Tea to Water Ratio 1:1. If you prefer a stronger flavor, use up to two grams of tea for each cup of water.

Water: Filtered water is best. Use water at 212ºF (fully boiling)

Traditional Steeping: 3 to 5 minutes

Flash Steeping: First, we run warm water over the tealeaves and pour it off very quickly. This removes any impurities and “awakens” the tealeaves for brewing. Then, we steep the tea – 35 to 60 seconds.

A little sugar goes a long way.

Great smell on the raw tea, smells good after brewing too. A bit bitter during first sip so I added a little brown sugar. Wow did that bring out a great flavor.

FRESH

Dry Leaf Smell: sweet mango candies (ever tried Hi-Chew Mango?) Steeped Tea Smell: nice, fresh ripe mango Flavor: nice mellow mango black tea Body: Medium Aftertaste: mango Liquor: translucent orange-brown This, THIS is mango black tea. I have been hunting for a good mango black for MilitiaJim, as he loves mangos, and this is it. We both agree it's a nice real tasting mango flavor that balances well with a smooth, not astringent or bitter, black tea. Post-Steep Additives: German rock sugar, a pinch = bring the mango out more - I highly suggest lightly sweetening this tea. Resteep: 5 minutes, added German rock sugar to start, just as delicious as the first steep - sweet mango and black tea with no astringency or bitterness
